How To Vacuum Bed Bugs In Carpet
Bed bugs are so tiny they can easily hide in your carpet so don’t be surprised if you can’t see them.
Especially if your carpet is brown or tan in color.
First, you want to make sure you have a vacuum that uses a bag to collect debris.
The reason for this is that you’ll want to seal your bag when finished and take it outside away from the home so bed bugs don’t escape and renter your home.
Vacuums with at least 110 volts are best to power suck bed bugs that are deep within the fibers of your carpet.
It’s also worth noting that a vacuum with a HEPA filter are better for this kind of cleaning.
Next, you’ll want to take your time and slowly vacuum every square inch of your carpet. I’d recommend repeating this process three to four times.
You may also want to use a crevice tool and use where the baseboards and carpet meet. This is another place that bed bugs can hide.
Finally, take the vacuum outside and seal the bag shut. Do this immediately to avoid bed bugs from reinfesting your home.
How To Kill Bed Bugs In Carpet
You’ll want to make sure that all bed bugs are dead and a good way to do this is to get Diatomaceous Earth.
Spread it on your carpet everywhere that you are vacuuming.
The reason for this is that it will kill any bed bugs that might be hiding in your carpet by damaging them and drying them out to the point of death.
Each time you vacuum repeat this step as you thoroughly cover every inch of carpet.
Another tool I used is to eradicate bed bugs …
SayByeBugs Bed Bug SpraySpray it liberally in every room. If you spot any live bed bugs you can spray it directly on them to kill them instantly.
Conclusion
Take your time when vacuuming your carpet and it’s usually necessary to vacuum several times. Sprinkle ditomaceous earth as you cover the entire home and every square inch of carpet.
Spray live bed bugs and use it in areas such as corners where the baseboard and carpet meet and bed bugs can hide.
You may think you can just step on these bugs, but that won’t work because they can hide deep into the carpet.
Make sure to immediately empty your vacuum into a trash bag and seal it tight.
This will help prevent bed bugs from escaping your vacuum and reinfesting your home.
