Bed Bug Bites

To start with bed bugs are much easier to spot because they are larger and leave traces of their presence such as a rust color on bed frames.

I have several pictures of bed bug bites you can look at here. Since bed bugs are nocturnal they will usually bite at night. These bites can be located anywhere on the body and look like swollen red welts.

Unlike fleas bed, bugs don’t usually come into your home through pets. It’s usually from used furniture, clothing, or even hitching a ride on you from a public place that has them.

Bed bugs don’t jump they have to crawl to get on you. It’s usually rare, but some people do develop severe reactions from bed bug bites such as fever, blisters, irregular heartbeat, and difficulty breathing.

Flea Bites

If you have pets you have probably had to deal with fleas at one time or another. Fleas typically found on cats or dogs, but of course, can be found on other animals too.

A flea bite is usually found on the ankles and legs. Fleas are extremely small and look like little black dots that jump around. Unlike bed bugs, they don’t usually hide.

If you have fleas you’re likely to see them during the day or night. Flea bites are usually much smaller than the bites of a bed bug. The bites are usually tiny and in clusters.
